May is National Skin Cancer Month

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. and worldwide1. In fact, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime2. Sun exposure increases your risk for skin cancer. That’s why just in time for summer, May is recognized as National Skin Cancer Awareness Month and National Melanoma Month. It’s the perfect time to learn the facts about sunscreen, the types of skin cancer, treatment options and more.

As part of this commitment, we offer a Total Body Skin Exam at your annual appointment.  The purpose of the Total Body Skin Exam is to allow our providers to analyze the overall health of your skin and check for any skin conditions or spots that may be of concern. During your exam, our providers will talk to you about your risk for skin cancer and how to safeguard your skin.
