What is it?

Athlete’s foot is fungal infection and a form of ring worm that affects the skin between the toes. This form is contagious and can be spread to toe nails and hands. Athlete’s foot impacts men and women of all ages and races, athletes and non-athletes.

You may experience itching, stinging and burning between your toes and also the soles of your feet. Often, symptoms will include blisters on the feet, cracking and peeling of the skin or discolored, thick and crumbly toe nails.

Could this be what you have?

Athlete’s foot is contagious, therefore can affect virtually anyone. Most often, athlete’s foot is spread by going barefoot in public places, such as locker rooms, showers and pools. Athlete’s foot can also be contracted if you have sweaty feet that are often in tight shoes with a lack of ventilation.
