Dermatopathology is the science of looking at samples of tissue (skin) through a microscope to determine the pathology (disease) of the specimen.

Frequently, as part of a visit to the dermatologist, a piece of skin is removed and sent for analysis, typically called a biopsy. The biopsy is typically done to determine the cause of a rash, to determine if a lesion is cancerous or not, or to remove a troublesome lesion. Regardless of the reason, it is the standard of care that each and every specimen be analyzed with a microscope. All specimens are processed on site in our certified pathology laboratory.

All specimens are analyzed and reported with accuracy, precision, and urgency.
