With our telemedicine appointments, patients can get the skin care they need - virtually.
Many skin conditions can be diagnosed, and treatment prescribed through telemedicine appointments. This can be a great option for patients until they can be seen at one of our offices for follow-up care or a Total Body Skin Exam.
With a telemedicine appointment, you will be able to meet with your Pinnacle provider through video conferencing. It’s similar to the face to face video apps most of us are already using on our smartphones to stay in touch with family and friends. And because it’s made specifically for online medical appointments and people of all ages, it is easy and secure:
- There’s no need to download anything – You won’t need to download any software or an app. You also do not need to create an account. A medical assistant will call you prior to your appointment to get all of your necessary information.
- It’s easy, just click on the link we send you – We will send you a link to access your telemedicine appointment at your scheduled time. All you need to do is click on the link from your mobile phone or computer and click to enable your camera and microphone and you will be video conferencing with your provider.
- It’s private and secure – Your appointment is private and your information is not stored or shared. Your appointment is HIPAA compliant and secure.
- It’s covered by many health insurance plans – Medicare and many health insurance plans will cover the cost of telemedicine appointments.
How it works
- Book an appointment
Call 1-833-257-7546 and ask our agent for a telemedicine appointment. We will ask you for an email address and a mobile phone number so we can send you a link to access your appointment.
- We will call
A medical assistant will call you prior to your scheduled telemedicine appointment time to get any insurance and other information to assist our office staff with updating your patient record or pertinent information to share with your provider prior to your telemedicine appointment just as they do when you come to an appointment at our office.
- Click the link provided
At your scheduled appointment time, simply click on the link provided to you. Your provider will be alerted that you are ready for the appointment.
If you are a new patient, we will email you our new patient forms to complete before your scheduled telemedicine appointment time. Existing patients should not need to fill out additional paperwork.
If your provider determines that you need follow-up care, such as removal of a mole or other procedure, you can make a follow-up appointment after your telemedicine appointment.
Appropriate appointment types
Telemedicine appointments are not an appropriate substitute for in-person Total Body Skin Exams and other skin checks for the detection of skin cancer. For these types of concerns, we recommend in-office appointments.
Billing and payment
Our team will update your patient chart, submit insurance claims and send billing statements for remaining balances the same as if you were at an in-person appointment.
We are confident in the quality of our video sound and viewing experience. Some users report that sound is further improved by using earphones. If for any reason your connection is lost, simply log back into your appointment by using the link provided.
